v0.3.8

Browse by genre, more high scores, mobile & controller fixes

Jul 16, 2026

Filter the library by genre, see every game's publisher & copyright, more titles tracking scores and on the ladder, a controller pause shortcut, and a big round of mobile fixes.

  • Filter the library by genre — Fighting, Platformer, Shooter, Adventure, Racing, Puzzle, Arcade, Sports and Cards
  • Every game now shows its publisher and copyright on the Game Data card
  • More high scores: Atari titles (Centipede, Frogger, Donkey Kong…) now track scores, plus 1943 and Castlevania III — and CV3 & 1943 joined the ladder
  • Press Select + Start on a controller to pause/resume any game
  • Mobile: rotate to landscape for full-screen play, and games now start with a single tap (no more grey screen)
  • The visitor dashboard's daily traffic is now a proper time-series chart
v0.3.7

Intellivision on a gamepad

Jul 15, 2026

Play Intellivision with a controller — the disc and action buttons work, plus a new on-screen keypad with per-cartridge overlays. Also: profile avatars and more scoring.

  • Intellivision now plays on a gamepad — the d-pad/stick moves the disc and the face buttons fire (no keyboard needed)
  • On-screen keypad: hold a shoulder button, aim with the d-pad, release to press a number — and each cartridge shows its own overlay art
  • Shortcuts: Start → keypad Enter, Select → keypad Clear
  • Pick a profile avatar from a preset gallery in your Account panel
  • Super Mario Bros. 3 ladder runs auto-submit on game over; 1942 now tracks high scores
  • The 'under development' banner now shows on every page
v0.3.6

Score & pause fixes + custom player names

Jul 15, 2026

Squashed a race that could freeze the score counter and break pause on the live site, and you can now pick an anonymous public name for the leaderboards.

  • Pick a custom Public Name in your Account panel — it replaces your Google/real name everywhere on the ladder and leaderboards, including past runs
  • Fixed a rare load race that could freeze the on-screen score after one update and stop Pause from working
  • High scores persist reliably across sessions — no more 'here one load, gone the next' (storage no longer depends on sign-in timing)
  • The ladder's game-over check no longer fights the score scrape — they share one read
v0.3.5

Score ladders that actually record

Jul 14, 2026

Dying now logs your run, high scores stick around, and we laid the groundwork for a store and a token system.

  • Score ladder: game over auto-submits and ranks your run, then returns you to the ladder (Super Mario Bros.)
  • High scores are now your best-per-attempt and survive restarts — no more getting wiped by a fresh game
  • Basic anti-cheat keeps impossible runs (e.g. 100+ lives) off the ladder
  • New Store page and an in-progress token system (free while in beta)
  • The game's title now shows on the play screen; fixed an unreadable Controls button
  • Fixed Pause so the game actually stops instead of running in the background
v0.3.4

The Intellivision arrives + a big cart drop

Jul 13, 2026

We built an Intellivision emulator from scratch and stocked the shelves across four systems.

  • Intellivision is here — 17 classics in your browser with sound and even Intellivoice speech (Astrosmash, BurgerTime!, TRON: Deadly Discs & more)
  • SMZ3 — our first modded game: the Super Metroid × A Link to the Past crossover randomizer
  • New NES: Ninja Gaiden I/II/III, Castlevania II & III, Super Mario Bros. 2, Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, Rad Racer, Solstice
  • New SNES: Chrono Trigger · New Genesis: Sonic 3, Sonic 3D Blast, Earthworm Jim 1 & 2, The Revenge of Shinobi, Ms. Pac-Man
  • Grab a Bluetooth or USB controller — plug in and play
v0.3.3

New front page & logins that stick

Jul 12, 2026

The arcade now opens on a proper home page, and signing in survives a refresh so you're not bounced back to Guest.

  • Redesigned home page: popular titles, live ladders, and active multiplayer at a glance
  • Stay signed in across refreshes with a secure 30-day session
  • Library filters: by system, single vs. multiplayer, and hide locked titles
  • Fixes: Donkey Kong Country is correctly 2-player; removed a duplicate Super Castlevania IV
v0.3.2

Sharper dev tools under the hood

Jul 11, 2026

Behind-the-scenes tooling to help us map games faster and understand how the arcade is being used.

  • Dev-only capture grabs a RAM snapshot + matching screenshot, downloadable as one stamped ZIP
  • Traffic dashboard now counts unique visitors instead of raw page loads
  • Trimmed ~440 lines of retired emulator code for a leaner, faster load
v0.3.1

SNES scoring & a better play window

Jul 9, 2026

Super Nintendo games can now track progress, plus quality-of-life upgrades to how you play.

  • SNES RAM mapped — A Link to the Past tracks pendants, crystals, and hearts
  • Pop games out to their own tab or go full-screen, with your maps and tools still open
  • Rebind keyboard & controller per system (NES / SNES / Genesis / Atari)
  • Live auto-map with a follow-me marker (Zelda) and enemy damage tables
